Every night this Labor Day weekend, stop by locations in Alphabet City and Dumbo to participate in ArtBridge artist David Greg Harth newest project, “Every Person I Know and Every Person I Don’t Know,” which involves accumulating hundreds of photo booth portraits of friends and strangers for an eventual 400-foot mural in Dumbo.
According to his Craigslist posting: “I missed the old school photo booth portrait. The commitment to the object. If one is unhappy with the strip of 4-photos they must destroy an actual object. It’s not just the deletion of pixels. I miss the captured moment in time. I miss the intimate time spent with someone in the close quarters of the booth. I miss the moment of conversation and the unique experience.”
So Harth started taking photo booth portraits with his friends. and then his Facebook friends, and then people he didn’t even know.
